HI EVERYONE!
One of the best parts about this business is that each day is unpredictable and always exciting. The morning of Winter Storm Stella earlier this month was spent plowing snow at the shops and our homes. I finished up a little after 1:00 and stopped for lunch. While eating lunch, a gentlemen called with a 71 convertible for sale that he had owned for over 20 years, and that had been sitting dead for a number of years. Someone else was coming the next morning to look at it, so if I wanted a shot a buying it, I had to act quickly.
Once I saw a few photos of the car and asked some basic questions, we put a deal together and I switched trucks and headed 3 hours south to pick it up. Before too long, I managed to get the Corvette running. We then cleared all the items sitting around the Corvette and loaded its extra parts into my truck. I just barely managed to squeeze my truck and trailer into the small back yard to get the Vette loaded, which was a long process in itself! Altogether, it took us about 2 hours from start to finish.
After stopping for dinner, we headed for home. Though the roads were surprisingly clear for most of the trip, we fought through drifted snow and white-outs the last ten miles or so to our house. It was a long night, but well worth the opportunity to bring this gem back to life and add it to our inventory! As you can see in the pictures, a good bath has already worked wonders!
You just never know what a day might bring!
