2014 Corvette Stingray Price Raise
Chevrolet is raising the price on one of the most well-received cars of this past year, the 2014 Corvette Stingray.
Before the model’s release last year, enthusiasts were expecting the car to cost around $60,000, but all were shocked when Chevrolet announced a base price of approximately $51,000 for the coupe. Since its release, the model is winner of numerous awards, including 2014 North American Car of the Year and Innovation Vehicle of the Year. Equipped with race-proven performance and a modernized interior, the car has been highly praised by customers and publications. The design, performance, and price have quickly made the 2014 Corvette Stingray one of the best values on the sports car market.
With sales continuing to increase at a rapid rate, Chevrolet announced a $2,000 price increase for Stingrays manufactured after March 1. The base price for the coupe is now $53,000, while the base price for the convertible has been raised to $58,000. For those desiring the Z51 Performance Package, the price has been bumped up by $1,200, making the total package cost an additional $4,000. Keep in mind, this price increase does not include any Stingrays that have been sitting on dealer lots or were ordered before March 1, 2014.
These changes are strictly a response to high demand, with Chevrolet experiencing a 149% increase in sales during February alone. Even at a base of $53,000, the Corvette Stingray is still a performance bargain compared to the competition. Top-notch handling, a powerful V8 engine, sleek design, and a modernized interior make this one of the best luxury sports cars on the market.
If you’ve been thinking about purchasing a 2014 Corvette Stingray, continue to keep an eye on the market. A dealer in your area may still be carrying models manufactured before the March 1 deadline, allowing you to save a couple bucks on one of the best cars in the industry.
