The lady who sold it to us had owned it for over 20 years. She told us she was the the second owner of this vette.
We just changed the oil and filter, checked and lubed the chassis, and changed the transmission and rear end grease. We also just installed a new radiator, lower radiator hose, water pump, front shocks, fuel pump, fuel pump hoses, upper control arm bushings, upper ball joints, idler arm, harmonic balancer, timing chain cover, and timing chain set. The last owner had 4 calipers, brake hoses, rotors, E-brake cable and hardware, fiberglass spring, trailing arms (left replaced, right rebuilt), rear shocks, rear end side yokes, strut rods, and much more done recently.
1977 was the last year for the short back window. It was also the first year without Stingray badges on the fenders. This 77 vette was part of the early production that year, which means that it does not have any side emblems at all- part way through the production year, they began installing cross flag side emblems. Each early 1977 also had a polished horn cap, which was later recalled due to safety concerns over the sun glaring on it. Most owners never had the cap replaced, as is the case with this car.
