We changed the oil and filter, transmission fluid and filter, and checked and lubed the chassis. We also replaced the rear brake hoses, selector seal, upper and lower control arm bushings, upper and lower ball joints, front shocks, sway bar links, idler arm, radiator, radiator hoses, HEI distributor, alternator, cam, lifters, harmonic balancer, water pump, thermostat and gasket, spark plugs, power steering pump, power steering hoses, and much more. 

We drove this corvette 2 hours home. It runs and drives nice. 

GM produced 6,707 in Red in 1979 out of 53,807 total production.

1979 was the highest production year for the C3 generation of the corvette.
