HI ALL,

It’s been a great month at Hobby Car Corvettes. Spring has officially begun, and we’ve just completed our second restoration of the year.  Last month we told you about our “Frankenstein” vette, a 1973 Pro-Street car that we had bought over the summer, and had a lot of fun restoring.  This month we finished up another restoration project that was even longer in the making- a 1972 Mille Miglia Red Convertible we bought a few years ago.   This Vette has come a long way since the first time we saw it and we’re ready to show it off.  Take a look at our latest blog for lots of pictures of the finished product, and if you missed it, check out our blog from January to read the story about how this Corvette fell into our hands.   I’ll give you a hint- it involves a thunderstorm, a huge tree, and a Shelby GT 500.

1981 Red Red Hot Rod Corvette

Just what everyone wants!  A real red-red 1981 C3 Corvette with a monster 454 big block in it. This Corvette is a blast to drive, with plenty of power and great handling.

Built 454, automatic transmission, 86,000 original miles, red leather interior, alloy wheels, power steering, power brakes, power windows, X-A/C, tilt and tele steering column, AM/FM/CD player, Edelbrock RPM intake, HEI ignition, dual electric fans, headers, high flow catalytic converter, Flowmaster mufflers, and much more.

Numbers matching, 90,000 miles, automatic transmission, black leather interior, power steering, power brakes, A/C, tilt/tele steering column, power windows, alloy wheels, Pioneer AM/FM/Cassette player, rear window defogger, and much more.

This Corvette has a newer base-coat/clear-coat paint job.  It has recently had dual exhaust, Flowmaster mufflers, master cylinder, 4 calibers, brake hoses, brake pads, e-brake cable, e-brake adjusters and springs, idler arm, sway bar links, and much more installed.  The rear end grease, oil and filter have also recently been changed.

1970 Orange Corvette 4spd Convertible

Numbers matching, 83,000 original miles, 4spd, 350/300Hp, A/C, power steering, rally wheels, saddle interior, original shifter, original radio, original valve covers, and much more.

Same owner since 1978.  Appears to have had one repaint in orange over the original Donnybrooke Green, with a nice-fitting body and many original parts.
