Last month, we actually managed to get a away for a week of much-needed relaxation!  We headed to one of our favorite spots, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  For the first time, we made the trip with some of our good friends, and we all had a lot of fun!

The first stop we made was to Wheels of Yesteryear.  We always have fun touring this museum, especially because the cars on display are rotated every year.  Some of our favorites this time were the 1969 Mach 1 Mustang, the 1973 Gremlin (we have a soft spot for those, believe it or not!), and of course, the 1963 split window Corvette.  We’re already excited for our next visit- the owner is working on adding on to the building to greatly expand the amount of space to display their collection of muscle cars and other classic cars and trucks.  If you’re ever close to Myrtle Beach, make sure you stop in and check it out!

Throughout the week, we enjoyed spending time on the beach, visiting our favorite restaurants, riding the Sky Wheel, and walking on Ocean Boulevard.  We even spotted an alligator one day when we were shopping!

On our way home, we got back to work.  Before leaving South Carolina, we stopped to pick up a blue 1973 Mako Shark 4 speed vette. We love Makos and this one is going to be a really fun project for someone (Or maybe for us!  Who knows!).  We drove almost the whole way home and dropped off the Mako at a friend’s house.

Then we detoured to York, Pennsylvania, where we spent the night before buying two more vettes- a yellow 1974 corvette and an orange 1976 corvette.  With three new Corvettes to add to our C3 Corvette inventory, we made the rest of the trip home.  We’ll take any excuse to extend our “vacation” by a day!
