Summer has always been our favorite season. We love that we can get all of our toys out of the garage to cruise in, but that’s not the only reason. We also love traveling to new places, exploring our country, and bringing back our favorite souvenirs- corvettes!
You might be surprised that this summer’s destination was a first for us. Believe it or not, we had never been to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky. We were very excited to finally check it out. We got to see the infamous 1983 corvette, several Corvette concept cars, the only Corvette that belonged to Zora Arkus-Duntov (the “Father of the Corvette”), and, of course, the area where the (also infamous) sinkhole was recently closed in, as well as some of the cars that fell victim to it. I’ll be sure to include photos of our favorites.
After our day at the Corvette Museum, we continued to head south to Nashville, Tennessee. We had always wanted to visit Nashville, and we had a great time there. One of the highlights of our visit was the Lane Motor Museum. Though there weren’t any Corvettes (at least not on display), it holds a spectacular collection featuring many, many cars that most of us have probably never even heard of. If you’re ever in the Nashville area, you should definitely check it out! We also had a great time seeing a performance at the Grand Ole Opry, touring the Country Music Hall of Fame, and listening to many talented musicians on Lower Broadway downtown.
Of course, we can’t forget our souvenir… we picked up at red 1981 4 speed Vette in Kentucky. It was a fun ride to cruise around the city in, and a great addition to our inventory. Check it out, as well as the other photos from our trip below!
